1986 Merc 2 stroke v6 Black max. I've honed the tilt tube but new steering cable only goes in 1/2 way before binding up. Old steering cable had to be banged out with a hammer, it was in there so tight. Is it possible that over the years the weight of the motor caN slightly bent the tilt tube ? I'm thinking of finding a long drill bit to ream the tube out. Any other suggestions? Thabnks in advance for all replies. D.G.
