83' Mariner 80HP, Will NO power when put into gear
My 80hp has plenty of power and throttle when I am out of the water, but when I put it in the water, it stalls everytime I put it into gear,(forward or reverse). If I can keep it running, full throttle is about 2mph. I have seen other forums that have said it was the Stater, but the guy at the boat place here said it sounded like bad compression. CAN ANY ONE HELP? the boat is worth about 2 cents, but it is better than nothing. any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
