Feedback: Merc 2002 90hp Saltwater series

Looking for feedback on the above motor. I have an opertunity to buy one for 2,600 still in break-in mode. <br /><br />Also: I assume it will be the same mounting holes as a 1988 60hp evinrude?? ((I hope))<br /><br />Thanks in advance.<br /><br />Smitty

Smitty, I have a 2003 90hp Saltwater. I have clocked about 120 hrs on it, apart from the normal rough idle that you get in std 2 strokes i have found it to be very economical compared to my old V4 Johno and had no probs at all with it.

Smitty, I bought one brand new in 2001 it was on a 16 ft runabout and could pull 2 skiers out of the water, ran great,was economical if a little noisy never had a problem, started first time every time, would recomend them.

Great to hear! What about the mounting? <br /><br />Also, I just started using tube/worm which is basically trolling. Any trolling issues?<br /><br />Thanks guys... I appreciate the info<br /><br />Smitty
