1970 1150 mercury little water coming out of pee hole

hello I have a 1970 1150 il6 motor runs good i carried it out last week and had water coming out pee hole after a few minutes running it just quite. I have replaced the impeller, but there is a plastic sleeve that was cracked? is this peace important? I have put it back together and fired it up now just a few plops of water falls out. what now

1st check the pee hole for obstructions.

Then drop the lower unit again and jam the end of a garden hose up against the water-pipe and see if it flows OK with you force feeding it water.

Sometimes there's more than the impeller at issue, the rest of the pump has to be in good shape too.

I blew into pee hole seemed clear, so I'll try your sugestion will let you know thanks a million.
