My buddy's 1979 50 horse Mercury has become hard to start, even when warm. It runs great full out and even at a slow idle. It starts fine if you hit the key right after shutting the motor down, but if you let it set for a couple of minutes, it takes several minutes to get it to fire. He just reminded me that when that happens, you have to give it a little throttle while cranking to get it started. I asked about this earlier and the answer was a possible leak in the fuel pump diaphram, but we just looked at that and both diaphrams are perfect. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks
Tom
