I have a 1987 mariner 9.9, The only way it will start when engine is cold is using starter fluid.when it starts it runs great. When engine is warm it starts with 1 pull.I dont know what to look for,it has new plugs and fresh gas.Thanks in advance!

Welcome to iboats.Just so you know, Ether washes the oil off the metal surfaces inside. Not good for a 2-stroke. Are you pulling out the primer knob? Try pulling it a few times to pump a bit more fuel. If it isn't pumping, then there could be a carb problem.
