Default Mariner ´78 - 140 not running between 2000 and 3200 rpm

Hi people!I´m having a trouble with my Mariner 78, 140 HP (the last one with distributor), 630 hours. The motor is olf but working fine, but a couple of days ago started to have problems between 2000 and 3200 rpms, it started to fail until sunddenly (a couple of seconds) it went fine and worked perfectly, but if I slow down the rpm the fail started again.(it´s like the motor is working in 4 or 5 cylinders).I thought in a carburator problem (the motor sounds like poor fuel), so I sent it to a full cleaning, but the problem is still there, and each time is worst. It´s not a fuel problem (cheked fuel filter too), checked piston pressure and is 120 in all cylinders. So the next step is to remove the distributor for cheking it, thinking it´s an electricity problem.Any other idea?, any suggestion? Two repair shops and still with the problem ...Idle speed works great, 3800 and above rpm works ok and full of power.Thank´s!!!Pablo

Check the plug wires to see if they are shorting out as the dist. turns
