Price of Johnson 9.9 HP

I have an opportunity to buy a Johnson 9.9 short shaft for $500. It is in fine running condition and comes with tank and fuel line. The model number is 10R77A which I think is a 1977 make. Would I be making a good buy at this price?<br /><br />Thanks

Howdy, WC.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats. :) <br /><br />Assuming that your statement about it being "in fine running condition" is based on actual observation, that seems like a fair price range to me. <br /><br />I would offer the seller $400 or $450 before I settled for the $500, though. :) <br /><br />Good luck. :)

Thanks JB, I'll give your suggestion a try although I think the price is firm...but with an Oklahoma winter coming on, they might negotiate.

Those motors are bullet proof. I have a 1975 long shaft.
