Default Quicksilver Tachometer settings for Mariner

Greetings from England.I am not technically minded actually my family claim that I am just capable of changing a spark plug.I own a 2003 25hp Mariner electric start. engine no. op257638 with remote controlls etc.I have recently fitted a white faced quicksilver tachometer. To enable the unit to work and to set the switch on the rear of the unit I need to know the following:1. The number of positive pulses per crank revolution.2. The number of poles. The switch settings on the rear of the tachometer are: 2p 3p 4p 5p 6p 4c 6c 8cCan any one help me?Regards, David.

Mercs typically set at 6P - would think Mariners would be the same.Good luck!
