I removed the prop on my '74 mercury 50 hp and since I replaced the new prop I have been having trouble with my reverse. I have no reverse just reving. While reving I tried to shift into neutral and the shifter would not budge. Finally after a struggle it went into neutral. Still no reverse. Now, it seems that my engine is still in gear while trying to start it. When trying to start the engine all power surges and will bearly turn over but not start. What happened? Any suggestions? Thanks
