Default 93 Mariner V135 - water from tell tale hole

Water not a stream from hole, have replaced water pump assy, water is not a steady stream, it comes out in spurts, while in water. On land with muffs on it is only a dribble. What is the next step to take? Only had boat about 2 months. Any info is appreciated.

Welcome to iboats and wait until it warms-up. Once the thermostat opens, it should have a good strong stream. Until then, it'll just dribble.

hello yep. replace the t-stats with the vented self flushing ones for an omc. they work better than the merc design. also clean the pressure relief valve and replace the diaphram. good luck and keep posting

I think rodbolt is right on track. Often you won't get a good flow out of the tell tale when on muffs especially at idle revs as most of the water is lost down the exhausts. The poppet valve is a prime cause of weak tell tale if the rest of the water pump has been replace. It is probably by-passing so much water out of the exhaust that there is not enough head left to make the tell tale.If it has never been changed I would be pretty sure that a new poppet assembly will go a long way to fluid utopia.
