Since the 1984 Mariners were made by Yamaha, check the Yamaha dealers.

THANKS. I DID CHECK WITH ONE MERCURY/YAMAHA DEALER AND HE WAS OF NO HELP, BUT I HAVE NOT GIVEN UP SINCE I WAS TOLD THAT WAS A POSSIBLILITY. THANKS FOR THE REPLY. JDH

This is pn 11441M, Ignition coil, that goes for around $80 and is 'No Longer Available'? If you could post your full model and serial number, I could confirm that.Anyway, go over to The Marine Doctor and see if he can help. Many NLA merc parts are still stocked at some dealers, and Merc has a program to find those parts. Seems some dealers can't seem to figure the system out. God bless him, but my local dealer seems to be one of them. TMD has been very helpful to me in the past in this regard.Good luck!PS - The Yamaha pn is 6G1-85570-00-00.
