Hi All;Yet another Mariner question........I have a 1991 4 cyl, 40 hp Mariner ser # 0D035993, the female motor end of the fuel line connector and the male connector in the engine itself were damaged when a mooring line fouled against them in a rather stupid move on my part Can anyone tell me the part numbers and appx. cost?

They have the female part in the iboats mega mall for $6.You can buy a complete line from some sources, then cut the male and female fittings off. I got a new Merc fuel line on ebay for half price.

You might consider removing them and just connect the fuel line directly. No worry about breaking them again. Ya can't break what ain't there. If the line is long enough, it should work just fine. And if you have portable tanks, you can still disconnect them. You don't have to take the line along with them. You also remove a major source for leakage. The way I see it, it's a Win/Win solution. You don't have to hunt parts, you can do it right now and be on the water today, and it won't cost ya nuthin. About the only way I see that a removable fuel line would be advantageous is with motors you take off the boat when you're done with them. For bolt-on motors, I think they're foolish. Too many potential problems and no practical advantages that I can think of.

Thank you; Rosco and WillyBWright;It is a bolt on motor on a MK 3 Zodiac and the fuel tank is permenantly mounted under the console with a remote filler fitting just like the "big" boats........I'll hook her up "direct" today
