Default Mariner 90hp - electrical plug query

After all my problems with the Merc 80 I had and having to replace it with the present motor because the block was corroded. The present motor is a three cyl 90hp Mariner 1988 with oil injection. It has Quicksilver controls with the trim control in the throttle/gear lever. The question I have, anyone know what is the small trailing socket is for, with approx. five/six pin holes attached to the throttle/gear control. Thought it may for a Rev counter connection???If so, what are the connections for this.

Gray is for tach sender, violet is the ign. 12v+ on wire black is ground. Tan is the temp sender wire not neccesarily hooked to anything if the head doesn't have a temp sender. This is different than the overheat sender. Brown/white would be the trim indicator sender wire.

Thanks for that, but I can't see any of the colors because the wires are covered with the sheeving of the cable to seal it.Any info, of which hole is which, matching the colors described looking down at the socket?Pinout ??Pin No.1 ?Pin No.2 ?etc

I've looked at various Websites as mentioned in the various topics found in the Search, but no joy with the actual 'pinout' layout for the plug connection for the Tachometer.Any suggestions where I might find this out.
