Default Mercury Temp guage sender?

Anyone know where to get the actual Mercury Temp guage sender online? I bought a 1987 150 V-6 which did not have a temp gauge on it. I ordered a Faria gauge "kit", which came with a "one size fits all" type sender. However the "button" fell right out of it's holder when I put it under the head bolt. I don't know how they expect the thing to stay on with the engine running. I'd like to replace it with the mercury part which installs in the socket under the two water jacket bolts. Where can I find one? I did order a water pressure gauge from the local marina, but it hasn't shown up in two weeks. I'm thinking I could do better ordering one myself. BD

Are you talking about the little aluminum button that fits into the cylinder head or the bracket? If so check this link out....You need to look at part# 27 or 28.... Let us know

Yep, parts 26 &27. It's a brass sending unit with a little aluminum holding plate. I finally got one off a trade-in motor at the shop in Rockwood. I was surprised I couldn't just buy one of these at one of the Marina's. The sender is treaded into the mounting plate, should it be adjusted to contact the base of the socket?, Or to not touch anything? Seems to work, my V-6 is reading 130 to 135 most of the time. A little hotter after coming down from WOT, and much lower at low rpms starting out. BD
