I recently damaged the skeg on my 2001 Honda 90. Bit of a chunk taken out as well as a slight warp along the length of the skeg. Is it OK to leave skeg as is, or should/can it be straightened? Thanks very much.

Re: Skeg warp

If you want to attempt the repair yourself:<br />The proper way to straighten the bent skeg is to back it up with something steel and heavy like a sledge hammer or if you have body tools a large dolly. Tap the skeg slowly to straighten. Do not attempt to hit it without a back up or it will crack and break. It will move easily with the backup. I don't know how large the chip out is but there are many epoxy products that you can use.
