I recently bought an '88 Sea Ray with a 135 Merc V6 and there is no warning horn. I looked under the dash and didn't see anything. How hard is this system to re-install? I assume the sensors are still on the motor, if so, where should I look? I'm still looking for a good manual for this motor.

I thought the horn was in the control box. Never had a problem with mine so have never really checked. It is certainly not external as far as I know.

Its either under the dash or in the control box. Turn on the key and ground one of the sensors wires to the block. The horn should go off.

The horn should go off when the key is turned to signal that it is working and everything is ok.

TMD

I'll check it this weekend, I know the system was modified at one point to include a "safety switch", I guess the Georgia Marine Patrol gave the pervious owner a ticket for not having a kill switch.
