hello, i have a 1999 mercury 115 hp outboard. my problem is that it stalls when i hit about 2800 rpms ish-----just plain cuts out. it's fine when im chugging along at lower rpms. any suggestions?? thanks.

Does the motor just cuts out dead or does it sorta chugs out like it's starving for gas?

both..... usually chugs though

It seems that you may have air leaking into the fuel lines, also check your fuel tank for proper ventilation.

Did you have any luck with this problem? I have the same problem. Mine actually does it at various times and speeds. If I pump the bulb it gets over it eventually. That's OK when the kid is in the boat, but very difficult when I am by myself @ WOT.
