I think I made a (newbie) mistake tha caused a problem. I bound all the cables, wires etc. that span the distance from stern -engine/ battery to bow - throttle lever / fuse panel. The next time out (coincidence?) the throttle cable broke; just aft of the control box and 3" long hard plastic sleeve which covers the softer cable that covers the metal cable, the soft sleeve separated and so the wire cable is now exposed and the throttle lever does not work. The cable still works if I push / pull on the cable itself.

Do I repair this cable? replace just this cable but not he shift cable? replace the set of 2?

How?
thanks
Dave of the wewiantic, wareham, ma

Replace it. You don't want it to break again with the throttle in the wide open position.

You are probebly best to change both of them. One seems to closely follow the other.

It is also less work to do them both now than one at a time later.

TMD
