Default 1996 60h mariner trouble starting

I have a 1996 60h mariner outboard that has troubles starting after being tilted up. I have to pull start it to get it going. After it is tiltrd down it electric starts no problem everytime. I think it may get flooded when tilted up but why does pull starting it bypass and fix this annoyance?

I believe that it should be started in the downward tilted position only.

I do start it in the downward position. The problem is after it is tilted up, it will not start in the downward position unless I pull start it. It will start everytime after that while down.

Check the wiring from ignition to the starter motor for any sign of corrosion, also around the battery terminals.

here's the the answer to my problem. When the motor is tilted up then put back down, the ignition terminal connector to the starter comes loose due to the tightening of the power cable leading from the motor to the egnition key. I found that depending on whether or not the motor is turned to the left or the right directly effects the ability to start. If I have the motor turned to the right it starts no problem. If I have the motor cranked to the left, the ignition cable tightens up and comes loose at the connection. Why it seemed like pull starting it fixed it is when I put the cover and housing back on, I unknowingly reconnected the loose connection. I wonder what a outboard mechanic would have charged me for that problem? Sometimes it is the most simple of things to fix the most complicated problems
