Hello fellas, please help me with a little question. There are two motors, Evinrude 4hp and Mercury 4hp , same ages, same condition and same price ~ CAN$ 350. Which one is better will be for my 9 ft. inflatable.

Either engine will perform about the same. I have a question though. Does your inflatable have an inflatable Keel? If not you might want to get the highest HP that the boat allows. Inflatables without inflatable keels do not push well.

TMD

FYI, If the Merc is the old single-cylinder design, they can be a little "buzzy" sounding, as the Johnrudes are generally 2-cylinder in that size range and run a bit smoother... The Mercs run fine, just make a bit more vibration noise...
- Scott
