I was getting my boat ready for the Summer today, and I noticed that when I started it and had it running (hooked up to a flusher) that no water was coming out of the water hole (tell tail.) Actually to be more accurate, I'd say it was only dripping out running at idle. Running faster didn't seem to matter at all... Does this motor have a thermostat? Is the impeller shot? If the impeller is shot, should the water pump be replaced too?

If you've never done it ,or do'nt know when it was last changed you are overdue.This is a regular maintenance item and should be done every few years in nice circumstances,more often in crappy.While you are in there make sure to blow back through the water tube and feel at the indicator for any restrictions.Things can plug up that indicator pretty easily.
