Roscoe, I originally posted because I had purchased a 15 hp Mariner at an extremely good price. According to serial number you suggested it was peerhaps a 1994. I doubted this. I checked with orig. owner and found that he had a bill of sale stating he had purchased it new in 1998. I then contacted a Merc dealer who informed me the engine was manufactured in 1989. So much for the purchase of "new" technology.
