Winterizing my Merc?

Hey Guy's I need some help. This is the first year that I have Kept my outboard motor.(Finally found one that pushes good enough.) It is a 1984 Merc 115hp O/B, inline 6cyl.<br /><br />What do I have to do to get it winterized. Any sugestions would be great.

I would suggest that you do not let your motor run dry on gas, but put some Seafoam in your gas and run the engine for a few minutes to make sure there is seafoam in your carbs. If you have more than one carb on your engine and you let it run out of gas, the carbs aren't going to run out at the same time, so the engine will keep running with some cylinders dry, and without oil.
