have a 30hp Mariner about 12 years old serial s015943 with a manual accelerator and steer. Would like to be able to hook it up so that I can remote steer but don't know where to start. Is this even possible and do I need to buy add-ons?All help appreciated!

Yes...go to www.mercurymarine.com then follow the links to Parts Express. Give all the info they request and you will prompted a list of sections to start with. You are looking for Remote Stearing and Linkage Kit and Remote Electricle Harnes. You can also get a complete Remote Electric Start Kit but That could run a few hundred bucks at least. Everything is priced full jack. Shop around and you should easily be able to get the parts for 20% off list. Study the list and each assocciated sku number carefully, or you will order parts that are individidual instead of in a kit which is cheaper.
