The battery cables on my wiring harness are getting pretty ripe, with cracking insulation on the positive line. Is there a way to rebuild these harnesses, or do I need to resort to buying another one?

Thanks

bh 357; If yours is like my '65, you could open the sheath right up to the motor connector and replace as may wires as you want, splicing them in and insulating them with great importance! Then, and you really need to plan ahead on this, pull a new sheath of some kind of fuel resistant tubing over the bundle.

I have spliced in new cable in quite a few. I have the cool heat shrink tubing also... BUT... As I run across old salvage motors with good ones, I snatch them up. Replace them when I need them.
