I asked a question a few days age about the need to replace a voltage regulator ('96 Mariner 90 hp Does not charge Battery - posted Aug. 20, 2003). "roscoe" responded that it sounded like I should replace the "rectifier". There is a rectifier (near the coil), and the voltage regulator (which rectifies the voltage), which should be replaced (or is there a way to check to be sure which one is bad).<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />wingarn
