Good! So now both up and down solenoids are getting tilt motor to work. However, this morning, I discovered that even while engaging tilt motor both up and down for a while, the outboard won't raise or lower. I did notice from a while back that there were some squeaks- like binding sounds coming from the area of the transom clamp while raising or lowering. Might it be that the bar on which the rotation takes place is corroded, and this tilt motor being less than new, movement is impeded? (I tried to back off the emergency release cap, but the slot is badly worn. So I'll have to try to get a socket on it. I figured, if movement is impossible or difficult when the emergency measure is taken, then there's probably sigificant rust on the clamp bar.
Has anyone had this problem and solved it the way I'm trying to do?

Gil
