gas connection

I just had my inherited boat serviced and see that the hose that goes from the gas container is not hooked up to the motor. I am at a loss as to where this gets connected. Please give me some advice on this stupid question. Also, one of the hoses has a crack in it. Is this ok? Should I have it replaced? Can I put tape on it to be able to take it out tomorrow? Thanks you.

Re: gas connection

I had the same problem, it's quite simple. Look for a small metal shaft next to a small hole with a pin next to it, if you push the pin in a small amount of gas should come out. The hose should have a connector with to holes and a metal switch. The connector with the switch slips over the shaft and clips on. As for the crack, i'd be inclined not to run very long with a crack even if it is taped up.
