I've found a boat I like, but I don't want the motors and the odds of finding an older boat with the ones I want are not good. The boat has twin 225HP 2 Stroke Mercury outboards with about 500<br />hours on them. If I buy the boat and switch the engines, what are my chances of selling the two used Mercury outboards? I am in the San Francisco Bay Area. Appreciate any input from this knowledgable board, thanks!

225s?! Those should go quick, as long as they are in good condition. I've seen outboards that have 30 hours and look like they have been through hell, I have seen outboards with close to 700 that look slightly used, so it all depends on there condition.

Check ebay for something similar and see if they are getting any offers.....and if they were used in the salt, don't expect a lot
