Default choke wires 15 mariner 4 stroke

why do the choke selinoid wire go to the stator under the flywheel

I'm with fastback4. Ignition switch to the choke! I have no idea why they go to the stator, if in fact they do(Doubt it, as I couldn't see why). Maybe it just looks that way. Just because they go under the flywheel, doesn't mean they are hook to anything. Maybe that's just the way they routed them??? Have you had he flywheel off to verify this? And please keep this thread in this post going, so that we may be better off to help you. A new post confuses some as to what the problem is. Did you ever check the voltage at the selonoid as I suggested in the other post? A Manual with a wiring diagram would do you a world of good on this one. Bottom left of this page!

Because it is a thermal controled automatic choke.It gets its power from the charge coil/stator and that little ceramic thing on the top of the carb regulates when the enrichening process turns off.
