The choke knob broke off my motor. How in the world do you get that thing out of there to change it? And does anyone have a part # for the knob? I have been opening the cowling and pushing the little primer my self but that is getting old. This is a 1987 25 hp merc. if i obtain a manual will it guide me through the process. also what would be the best manual for the motor? I noticed that some manuals cover many year model motors and I just assume it would be best to get the one specific to my motor. where is the best place to get the manual?
Manuals can be bought online here at Iboats.As for taking the choke/primer knob off. The retaining part should be bolted to the front of the carb. 2 bolts if I remeber properly. Then tilt the back part down and pull towards you, it should come off.TMD
