fuel problem 1150 mercury

I have a 74 inline 6 115h mercury outboard.I think fuel pump is bad.Can original pump be replaced with inline electric pump.

Sure, but why? It would require pressure regulation, and a high pressure type would overide the needle valve. But even a low pressure type would require external regulation to avoid damage to the carb,and crankcase flooding.<br />With three bowl carbs to supply, it wouild probably be much cheaper to buy a kit and stick it in.<br />JMHO, and I'm just thinkin out loud. :confused:

Just my $.02, but I think your motor has 3 fuel pumps.<br /><br />12footer is correct, fuel kits are just few bucks.
