'95 Mariner 90 HP Model 7090412DD Serial # 0G143737 sat at dock for last 1 1/2 yr without draining fuel system. (I know - Stupid is as stupid does!) Less than 100 hours on motor!<br /><br />Just disassembled & cleaned 3 carbs, put in new gas filter, cleaned plugs (less than 10 hrs on them), put in fresh gas and the motor still starts coughing and sputtering once it gets around 3500 - 4000 RPM. Getting good bit of smoke at same time. <br /><br />Anyone got suggestion as to what to check next?? <br /><br />Could there be a problem with the oil pump/fuel pump causing something like this? <br /><br />What about engine timing - how do I check it??
