Hi, can someone Id this engine, no tag on bracket. Core plug on top of left bank has 431662 stamped with the letters RPH below it. It is a VRO, has a primer. Thanks.

That shows up as a 1991 85 (tiller), 1988-91 88,90 and 65 jet.<br /><br />Basically a V4 crossflow with a flat back exhaust. Obviously it will fit a lot more motors but since its a factory replacement its a pretty good bet thats the year of the "dressings". A very good motor.<br /><br />Good luck!

Can you explain "Dressings"? The motor was on its way to the boat graveyard along with the old Bayliner its mounted on. Looks bad but its mostly cosmetic, I will do a compresion test on it tomorrow, it feels ok turning the flywheel by hand.
