Shift cable replacement

Do you have to go through the sync and link process when replaceing control cabels. I replaced mine and now my engine dies when placed in gear. Runs fine at all RPM ranges once you get it moving <br /><br />1983 mariner 115

jabbo,<br /><br />Not likely. The cable ends (motor end) should have adjustments.

Thanks Djohns<br /><br />I will give that a look, I was worried that my low speed timing wasn't advancing causing motor to die.
