I replaced the bendix on the starter and I misplaced the nut that goes on top of the starter. Could someone tell what size the nut is? It is a mercury 50 horsepower 1987. The local boat dealer was not very helpful.Thanks

Ricky&Lisa Why take a chance on someone guessing wrong?Take the starter to your local bolt & fastener company and have them match the new nut's threads to the end of the shaft. If a nylock nut came off, make sure you replace it in kind.Good luck,Gold Bear
