Summer is coming and I have to grease/lube up my engine. I know nothing about this. I looked in my Engine Manual, it shows me what to lube/grease but doesn't say what kind of lube/grease to buy. Anyone know what is some good grease/lube to use for this year and model?

Thanks,

Clueless Brianmerc

Pennzoil or Quicksilver lower unit marine gear lube will be just fine. You will also need to buy a gear lube pump. All this will cost under $20 and can be found at any auto parts store or Wal-Mart. Hope this answers your question. It is VERY important to keep clean gear lube in the lower unit. I check mine every time I come off the water just to be safe. If it is cloudy or discolored after you change it, you may have a leak or allot of friction and should investigate.

And a waterproof boat trailer wheel bearing grease like Sta-lube (the blue stuff) or equivalent will do quite nicely for the grease fittings on the motor........ed
