I need to know whether it is feasible to repair the my lower unit, which as metal shavings in oil and the bearing carrier is broken or whether to find a rebuilt lower unit for my motor? This is not result of hitting anything. Does anyone know where I can get a rebuilt lower unit for my motor - I was told by Mercury Marine that a 40HP has the same parts in lower unit.
