a speedo is seperate from motor and works off airpressure. not real accurate though. GPS is betterway to go, but a bit more expensive.good luck,M.Y>

I run a 94/60 Mariner. This engine has a manometer type (water/air pressure with tube) speedo hookup just forward and below the lower swivel mount. Yours may be the same, otherwise a seperate mount of the same type or paddle wheel style are both easy to install on the hull. I have a gps as well and as long as I keep connections tight and pick up hole clean on the speedo the gps agrees quite closely to the read out on the gauge. Good Luck and Good Boating P.S. There is no such thing as a stupid question.
