Default Mercury Switch

Can the Mercury Switch be removed without effecting engine? This is a small cylindrical part that has one wire going out to the switch box and another that just loops to itself. What is it for? if it must stay on, where the heck can I get another?1972 65 hp merc. Thanks!

Default Re: Mercury Switch

That Mercury switch is a stop circut to stop the engine from running if it is tilted up to far. You could disconnect it.
