I have sourced a service manual for my 1968 Erude 40hp Lark from the US. The freight cost is US$62.00, more than three times the cost of the book. Is there anyone in OZ that stocks these manuals. Thanks.

Hi jai,

Clymer & genuine are available in Australia (don't know about seloc). I'll post some mail order links - give me an hour or so, I'm just finishing off some paperwork.

Aldo

Thanks mate. I have a Seloc but I think the genuine service book will have the detail I am chasing.

Jai,

I've got a couple of links to evinrude dealers but they are not working, it seems that both sites have recently changed over to honda :( .

Here are a couple for clymer:

http://www.marinedirect.com.au/catalogue/category1104/category1063/product82443

http://www.guidesgalore.com.au/product_detail.asp?ID=2700

I found some rude dealers but they don't mail order. Where are you?

$62USD delivery, maybe thats with a secret service escort, I've sent books overseas a few times, only 5 or 10 bucks. Why so expensive?

Aldo

Hi Jai, I'm not an Aussie but I may be able to help here. I'm guessing that $62 shipping charge came from the same site that I came across, they wanted over $52 to send two parts catalogues to the UK.
I found a better site though that charges just $12 to send the same catalogues, try MarineEngine.com HERE and you may find what you want.

Does this mean I have to learn to speak Strine and wear one of those hats with the corks on?

The US$62 delivery cost is from Kencook. They charge US$20.00 for the service manual. MarineEngine charges alot less for freight and US$40.00 for the manual.I live in Mill Park and work in Laverton North so I can pretty much get anywhere. I'll try and contact some Evinrude dealers. Thanks all for your help.
