9.8hp HP Merc OB model year?

Just boaught a 9.8hp, two cylinder, thunderbolt ignition, merc 110 outboard serial 3796661. I think its in early 70's but would like to know the exact year to buy a manual/parts/brag rights/etc. Cowling is black with red and blue horizontal 1/4" pinstripes above and below MERCURY on P/S sides.

Thanks, wannabe, saw that table when i first started looking but the gap of 4 years between the 71 and 75 models made me wonder. For part purposes, i guess 1971 is what i use.

Thanks bear im going to delete this topic but you seem to be closest. One person said its a 71, two a 74, and a local parts dealer said yesterday it was a 1975. He also added that Merc rerated the engine to 11hp but the 9.8 designation was left for years to avoid confusion.<br />The year doesnt seem to be important unless you want to buy a repair manual....the parts people only want model and serial - seems like the manual people should do the same - would make our life easier. Anyway, thanks a lot for your help. Doubt i'll be getting to stockholm with a 9.8 anytime soon for a visit but appreciate your attention to my very minor issue. OldMix.
