Default Mercury stator question

1994 Mercury 4 cyl 125 hp Ser # OG039265 Model 1125412PD. I have a bad stator the number on the stator it self is 398-9710A31 this part is no longer available from Mercury, so I've called around looking for a replacement but Iam completely confused because everyone that I have talked to comes up with a diferent part number. I have an original part # stamped on the part a sre # and a mod # I cant understand why its so dificult. Can anyone offer some advice? thanks.

Mercury does have a stator for your engine, part #832075A8. Have your dealer look at Parts Bulletin 1996-01

Never had much luck with Rapair parts. It's hard to get them to pay warranty. Mercury parts all have a 1 year warranty, parts and labor.

I met Rapair 1989, no problems with warranty, they ship warranty parts no charge, and I keep all parts until job is completed. Then return old parts, they paid freight both ways. I also know two techs that work for self, will not use a Rapair part.

Clanton, how are you. If you are still monotoring this I'd just like to know if my engine takes the 9 or the 16 amp stator and does the regulator have to be changed also when using these substitute parts. who is a good distributer to get these from. thanks
