i took lower unit apart after buying used to check out condition and to replace drive shaft with long shaft instead of short shaft i have every thing apart including c clip on top of bearing and everything from inside prop area i see a small peice of what might be a clip by the gear on the lower half of drive shaft but can not get to move to take gear off any help? 1965 merc 50 hp short shaft with offset center bolt going to motor case
