Are these props the same (Mercury Black Max vs Quicksilver Black Diamond)?
Is a Mercury Black Max the same as a Quicksilver Black Diamond? Looking for a new prop...nothing fancy...aluminum 3 blade. iBoats has some good deals on Michigan Wheel also. Any suggestions? Thanks,Brian
Re: Are these props the same (Mercury Black Max vs Quicksilver Black Diamond)?
I don't know if they are the same as I haven't compared them side by side. If I remember correctly though, the Quicksilver Black Diamand (also made by Mercury as you know) is the counterpart or replacement to the Black Max. Anyone with a Quicksilver parts book could give you a more accurate picture. It shouldn't be a big deal, but keep in mind that there could be many different (although small) variations of this prop - even for the same size prop. Mercury is known to make changes in their props over time. I believe the different versions are assigned various version numbers. This makes comparing 2 props more difficult.Michigan Wheel offers many, many props. They are known to be one of the best out there and they make originals or replacements for almost all recreational boats.

BRG,I need to do a couple more test runs with my smart tabs, and the new 60lb actuators... once I get settled in, I bet I will stay with my 21P..If so, I'll have this 23P and we can work something out. As you may or may not know, the company I work for has a store in Cortland, I'm not very far away.

hey dutch...No, I wasn't aware that your company had a store in Cortland. Speaking of Smart Tab's I just installed a set also. Maybe we can compare notes some time. I really haven't had time to adjust them very much. Let me know on the prop.Take care,Brian

If anything you guys may be able to go up in pitch on step. Make sure the pressure adjustment is correct. You should be able to pick up 2 to 4 MPH. Call us if you have questions.
