I have a 89' model mercury 35hp motor and I have it on a 15 foot bassmaster bass boat. I recently purchased the boat and I was wondering if any one knew what the wot rpm was suppose to be on this boat the boat is pretty light I would say probably no more than 500 pounds. I took it out yesterday for the first time by my self and all I could get out of her was 3400 rpms! Is this right? Im only doing 30mph! is this right? Im happy with the speed b/c its a bassboat but I am just concerned with the rpms. I recently had the carbs cleaned and tuned if that helps any. I had 6 gallons of gas and I weigh 170 pounds. If this is all I can get should I look into getting a bigger motor?
