Mariner year, dealer is stumped
I have a Mariner 40ELO, serial number 6E9 L 451969. My local dealer says the serial number is not the right format for a Mariner. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have just got a Mariner 40 ELO serial no 6E9 L 451408 and have been trying to figure the year out too.
So would mine be 1989 as well????????
