1978 Mariner 9.9 Carb.

I have a 1978 9.9 Mariner made in JAPAN. I bought a new carb.(15 h.p.) off ebay that fits and works but I have one question. The 9.9 carb. had 2 small hoses that attached to the carb flange and engine block (bleed lines I believe). Since there is not such hookup on the 15 h.p. carb, what should I do with these lines? (connect them together or what?

I looped one hose to both connections on the cylinders and it works great.
