I have twin 150 Mercury EFI motors and was running almost full throttle when one kicked off. The port side is the one that failed and it is a counter rotation motor. I could spin the flywheel counter clockwise, but when i tried to start it, it would stop at the same point, making a metal hitting metal noise. Seams like a rod bolt may be stuck down. Any suggestions?

First, pull the lower unit off and try spinning the flywheel. If it doesn't turn free, I would suspect a rod let go.<br />If it does spin free, the lower unit is trashed, but at least the powerhead is probably ok.
